The Empire of Lys is a large imperial country located within the Human Plains. It is bordered by the countries of Asila to the North, Baralia to the Northwest and West, and The Kingdom of Kroll to the Southwest. Lys is one of the oldest, if not the very oldest country in the Plains, being known to be just younger[1] than the Azarinth Order and the Shadow's Hand. The first Empress of Lys was Empress Lyrian and the current reigning empress is Empress Alyris.
Lys is composed of many noble houses as well as the common peoples. There is a standing army that has many different branches including the Assassins Division[2].
The capital city is that of Virilya [3], as very large city with multiple layers of walls and defenses including long-duration shields at the core defensive area as well as some kind of energy-based defensive weapon that is able to destroy invaders in sections of the city at need. Virilya is know for being a city of corruption and the source of many vile Blood Magic practices[4].
While previously the borders of the various countries have been stable for many years, Lys was recently at war with Baralia after they invaded the capital city of Virilya [5]. As the perception of power has shifted towards Baralia being the weaker of the two parties, Baralias neighbors have started to take part even beginning to invade to claim as much of the spoils as they can.
While recently within the borders of Lys, it has recently allowed Ravenhall to secede and gain autonomy.
