A secret society of very high level humans working together when their goals align, to keep order. Sometimes that includes participating in wars or assassinations.
Helena described it like this:
“Accepting this offer would allow you to draw on our extensive network of resources, information, and influence. While offering some of yours in return. All for a price of course.”
“And what would that price be?” Ilea asked. Gold, blood, loyalty?
“That depends entirely on what you wish to acquire and from whom. The only goal of the Lily is to provide a network of trade and cooperation, to keep up the fragile order present in the human kingdoms and empires. For the benefit of all.”[1]
The Golden Lily let Baralia's slavery go on for too long despite being strongly against taking the freedom of other people. This was explained by Helena as a result of intervening being more trouble than its worth. They did eventually intervene however, when High King Baron started getting aggressive and declared war.[2]
Eregar mentions that the organization has existed in several iterations over the millennia, one of them being The Blue Rose. They were created to stabilize the conditions for humanity after the Olym Arcana broke, which has shaped some of the racism that has been present in the Lily.[3]
