Dwarfs are an old, isolated[1] and hidden[2][1] race of Elos.
Appearance[]
They look like humans but are shorter(~140-150cm) and broader.[3]
Unlike the classic dwarves, dwarves with a shaved beard have been seen.[4]
No female dwarf has been described as having a beard.[5]
Judging by the fact that Ilea distinctly understood that the ghoul's face is dwarven[6], it can be said that they have their own facial phenotype different from humans.
Characteristic[]
Their peculiarity is that they see better in the dark[7] and also have a better lifespan than humans.
“Don’t know a lot of dwarves do you. Our lifespan is quite a bit longer than a human’s. No wonder you lot rush leveling like that.” He said and laughed.[8]
Compared to humans, dwarves have many stone and especially metal mages, and they do not need sunlight and can live for centuries under magical lighting underground[9] and do not experience much discomfort from metal in the air, food and drinks.[10]
Thus, when humans are beings of light, sun, water and emotion[11], dwarves rather have much less light and sun, and much more stone, earth, and metal.
- It is unknown at what level they are born but they are mostly the same as humans and dwarves 300 or higher are as rare as humans.[12]
- It seems that the puberty period is the same as in humans.[13]

Location[]
Traditionally[39][40], they live north of the Human Plains in and around The Naraza Mountain Chain or in any mountain or place where they can burrow. [2][41]
- Although outside of Taleen, dwarfs living outside of the northern mountains were never mentioned.
The Naraza Mountain Chain itself is very wide, starting from the shores of the Karthian gulf facing the Wastes of Ash, the domain of fire in the west[42] and ending with the coast near the the Isle of Garath in the east.[43]
Given that they live close to the Stormlands, a higher mana density than on the Human Plains is expected.
They also live at altitudes with low enough mana to not attract northern monsters.[44]
Known places of current residence[]
- Hallowfort – dark ones city.
- The Pit – dwarven city.
- Eranur – dwarven big city.
- Parior[45] – dwarven kingdom.
- Erlen[46] – dwarven city and the former kingdom.

- Io – Taleen prison-shelter city.
Economy[]
~3000 years ago, a supposed person from another world was imprisoned in one of the dwarven kingdoms, they were expressing amazing economic and agricultural ideas.[47]
- It is unknown how this has affected the Dwarven economy and civilization in general after so many years.
They know about interest[48][49] and contracts[50], about investments and sponsorship.[51][52]
Judging by their isolation[1], they have a fairly self-sufficient economy but are always hungry for metals[53] and especially for rare metals[54], they send out expeditions to the stormlands[54], dig exploration mines[55] and even dig extremely deep holes in their cities[56][57](although the cities themselves may have been just exploration mines from the beginning like The Pit) in search of metals, treasures, and monsters.[55]
They get food from monsters that find and water from underground sources like the Shining Caves[58] under The Pit and store water in special tanks like the water-filled Talin hall where the huge octopus(Caller of the Deep) lived.[59]
- Although no farms were ever mentioned in any of the Taleen city or in The Pit, vegetables were noticed.(see more – Cooking and Brewing)
The value of gold.[]
“Come then, I’ll pay for a round of ale for all of you. If gold is still worth anything.” – Chapter 684
They value metals above gold[53] and in general gold is quite useless for war machines because gold has poor mana conductivity(for non-gold mages).[53]
But gold is still used as a currency to exchange for something(like tools and materials)[60] or for betting.[61]
- It is unknown whether gold is used in other dwarven settlements as widely as in The Pit.
- Silver is also in use.[60]
Domestic trade[]
The flow of goods begins with miners and divers who bring all kinds of resources to the Guilds, which in turn classify, organize, sell and bring the findings to various smithies, restaurants, shops and pubs, etc[62]
Or any of dwarves can use resources for themselves or sell more profitably if they know where and for how much.[63]
- Perhaps they use underground tunnels[64] to transport and exchange goods between settlements.
⠀The Warmachine Industry[]
War machines in their society are a whole industry, each dwarf has their own forge(or a shared smithy)[60][65] and creates their own war machine for themselves[66], so it become something like a fashion, a status symbol[67] and an everyday tool for work.[68]
But this does not mean that they live in war machines, rather they often go in them.[69]
- There is also a special clothing for war machines[5]
- There are additional modifications for the war machine that make it easier for beginners to move and Ilea called it training wheels.[70]
Guilds can provide apprenticeships or financial support[51] to promising warmachine engineers[71][72] or designers[71]
International trade[]
Dwarves can make storage items and if you're lucky, you can buy one from them.[73]
It also seems that other races often come to buy metals from the dwarves.[61]
Dwarves trade with humans. The Dwarven kings made a trade treaty with the Golden Lily.[74]
They also buy sweets from Heavenly Sweets that Helena owns.[75]
Catelyn suspects that the dwarves are selling weapons to the Dark Protector's Army and Feynor, thereby earning money from the war.[76]
Although the dwarves avoid the Elves, they still sell their tools to the Cerithil Hunters, whether through intermediaries (humans) or directly.[77]
“ “Ropes, enchanted fire spheres, armor repairs, good meals cooked by professionals. Even we appreciate the mundane. There are many of us who don’t care but after hundreds of years, it gets tedious to just eat raw meat and constantly run around in the darkness, relying only on magical sight. I like the comfort of a feather filled bed just as much as any other mammal. Your kind has perfected such wares and thus we sought a trader.” ” – Ben the Cerithil Hunter about his needs.[77]
Relationships with other races[]
“ HALT!” a voice bellowed through the crevice.
Ilea did as he asked. “We’re friendly!” she shouted back. “Here to visit and trade!”
“ONLY WAR MACHINES AND DIVERS! THERE’S NO TRADE FOR YOU HERE! LEAVE ASH BEING!” the voice resumed.
Hmm.
“LEAVE OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!” came the warning. ” – Chapter 675
The dwarves do not accept any outsiders into their cities and it is usually difficult or even impossible for outsiders to get past the entrance.[1]
“ “A few cities, but they don’t let in anyone. You need some of them to vouch for you and even then it’s difficult,” Verena said.” – Verena Quil, Chapter 675
Wars[]
Bralin said that there has been peace for centuries.[78]
After the Disappearance of the Third Sun, the dwarves were in alliance with humans and elves to fight off the enemy[79], and when they succeeded, they began to kill each other for the spoils of war.[80]
- Also, from the words of Fae, it is implied that the lower races(including elves) have previously(before the Disappearance of the Third Sun) united against some common enemy.[79]
The elves, dwarves, and humans had long engaged in skirmishes in the new north to claim it, and in the end they had tacitly decided to leave the area as a no-man's land.[81]
Humans[]
Dwarves believe that humans do not understand the true value of metals.[82]
Humans are allowed into The Pit[83] and humans live in peace with the dwarves in Hallowfort.[84]
Humans are used to dwarves and normally treat them.[85][86]
However, the Golden Lily does not like dwarves.[87]
Dark Ones[]
“ ... A more appropriate explanation is that the races of blood expanded and dug far enough to find and challenge the dark ones living peacefully. I must admit many of them are not, peaceful that is. Hunters, deceivers, evil beings seeking goals not quite differing from those of many a human, elf or dwarf. ... ” – The legendary smith Goliath about the old days.[90]
Many dark ones found shelter in the abandoned settlements, tunnels, and mines of the dwarves, as an example in the Taleen city and the Centurion factory called Izna, a variant of the dark ones who called themselves Saurians, lived there and wanted to communicate only with the dwarves[91] and even gave a gem as a gratitude for cleaning the city.[92]
Judging by the dark ones living in The Pit, they are treated neutrally there.[83]
There are quite a few dwarves coexist quietly with the dark ones in Hallowfort[93][84][94], and the dwarves even took part in the meeting when the corruption occurred.[95]
Elves[]
“ Terok looked at the elf too, chuckling a little at the sight. Ilea was surprised with how little regard he had talked to the ancient being. Perhaps dwarves had a different opinion on the species than most humans she had met. ” – Ilea Spears, Chapter 260
The Taleen had been at war with the elves even before the third sun disappeared[96], and even after they disappeared, they continued to send out their endless army.
“ “The cursed ones go into their homes, destroy what they can find but it doesn’t change anything. The machines still come, unstoppable, in greater numbers every year.” ” – Niivalyr Olanis about endless Taleen army[97]
The elves don't care about the dwarves[98] and the dwarves themselves usually avoid the elves.[77]
The Hallowfort dwarves don't like elves[99] although the Terok have fun with them.
Lizardmen[]
Judging by the lizardmen living in The Pit, they are treated neutrally there.[83]
In Hallowfort, the dwarves and lizardmen co-existed peacefully and were even seen as a team.[100]
Feynor[]
The Feynor hate dwarves in third place after humans and the dark ones.[101]
The Feynor destroy the expeditions to the north.[102]
Feynor attacked Hallowfort, where the dwarves lived.[103]
Interesting moments[]
- The Pit ale is so good and varied that Ilea was shocked and really liked it, perhaps it is even equal to or better than the ale of Vultures.[104]
- You can find out if you are near to the dwarven kingdoms with the help of the traces left by their war machines.[105]

A skeleton clad in armor. Ilea slowly walked to the skeleton, making sure not to even breath towards the pedestals. Crouching down, her auras lit it up a little. It was small and broad, just as one would imagine a dwarf to be.
and
The problem was that it was obviously made for a dwarf. ‘Sadly I’m not one meter fifty tall and just as wide...’ she thought and made the armor vanish again.Half the races running around, trading and shouting she had never seen. Is that a dwarf? The man was as tall as a kid but with sturdy arms and legs, no hair on his head as well as a scar on his scalp. He looked about as heavy as she would be were it not for her dense bones and muscles.
